TRAVEL: Montreal: Les 3 Brasseurs (3 Brewers )

Location(s): A.  732 Sainte-Catherine Street West, Montreal B.  1658, rue Saint-Denis, Montréal http://www.les3brasseurs.ca (All images photohogger) Let me start with the pros of the restaurant: Amazing beer-battered poutine.  Great atmosphere: loud, bustling, was fun to be there during the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Food (pros & cons): Everything was grease-central (could be a pro for some?).  The … Continue reading

The Raging Olive

Location: 3537 Fairview Street Burlington, ON Beerhogger celebrated his birthday BEERFEST (thirty)SEVEN at Better Bitters Brewing Co (more commonly known as Nickelbrook in Burlington.  The owner John welcomed our group with open arms, catered food for us from The Raging Olive (a local restaurant with awesome middle-eastern food and they carry Nickelbrook brews on tap), gave us the … Continue reading

Mill Street Brewery

Location: 55 Mill Street, Toronto http://www.millstreetbrewery.com For beerfests and the like, Mill Street Brewery has the capacity for the people and the beers. Check out their Ontario’s first “Original Organic Lager” for a light and hoppy flavour. I’m now more interested in their new Lemon Tea Beer and this contest they’re having.

Overdraught Irish Pub

Location: 156 Front St W., Toronto Overdraught is what I like to consider a hidden gem of an Irish pub, situated underground right between Joe Badali’s and Canyon Creek Chophouse. Here you can find all the usual pub details: dark corners, cheery folk and most importantly, GUINNESS. The fish n’ chips and wings are just bonuses. … Continue reading

Boston Pizza

Location: 2458 Queen St E.,Brampton I’d never been to a Boston Pizza before but have seen it many times from driving across four lanes. It is the quintessential surburban restaurant. Oddly, we didn’t care for pizza that day and opted for sandwiches and burgers. Menu described it as follows: Buffalo Chicken Sandwich Breaded chicken breast … Continue reading

Fynn’s of Temple Bar

Location: 489 King Street West, Toronto http://www.fynnstemplebar.com It used to be a Fionn MacCool’s and now the name isn’t all that different but the menu certainly is.  For one, they have these God-awful photographs that don’t really look related to anything ON the menu. Things like three scoops of vanilla ice-cream that looks as if … Continue reading

Bar Volo

Location: 587 Yonge Street, Toronto There’s cosy, then there’s cramped! Granted, it’s not meant for large groups, but they certainly have a small bar considering 50% of its name is BAR.   I do love the variety of beers though, although it’s not too enjoyable drinking standing up crammed between the bar and a few stools. … Continue reading

Raq n Waq

Location: 739 Queen St. W. 2nd Floor, Toronto http://www.theraq.ca The Raq is a great place for summer after work drinks. They have a really nice partly-sunny patio, pool tables (hence the name) and fireplaces indoors.  The service is semi-attentive and the food, although nothing to write e-mail  home about, is fine for drink snacks, but … Continue reading

Bar Wellington

Location: 520 Wellington St W, Toronto Oh, Bar Wellie, how you’ve changed. Okay, not to be quite so dramatic, but we really had some good times Bar Wellie and I. Once upon a time, when the service was nice and friendly, and I had my first taste of Leffe beer. Let me tell you, it … Continue reading

Beer Bistro

Location: 18 King E., Toronto, http://www.beerbistro.com Was hyped to go to Beer Bistro having heard so many great things about the huge selection of beer etc etc etc… And I have to say, although the beers were good and the selection massive…we were a tad disappointed with the food. We went for brunch and everything … Continue reading
